Save Section 9 is a network of tenants and allies who work together to :

  1. Lobby Congressional Representatives nationwide to adopt of collective solutions

  2. Provide skills and education tools to tenants to support them in becoming leaders and organizers in their communities.

  3. Lead and support local campaigns to hold NYCHA accountable.

NYCHA’s corrupt leadership has mobilized it’s money and influence to push privatization of Section 9 housing, and we need every neighbor who can help fight the misinformation and protect our homes.

Action In Review

In December 2022, public housing residents and allies involved in the fight to preserve public housing convened at Barnard College for an afternoon event hosted by members of Save Section 9. The focal point of this event was a tenant panel where resident leaders to reflect on past, present and future challenges, celebrate successes, and commune:
